MERCON® ULV Automatic Transmission Fluid
- Motorcraft® MERCON® ULV is a premium-quality automatic transmission fluid recommended by Ford Motor Company for use in the 8F Front Wheel Drive and 10R Rear Wheel Drive families of automatic transmissions. - Motorcraft® MERCON® ULV is an ultra-low viscosity fluid manufactured with high-viscosity index, premium-quality, hydroprocessed base oils and specially designed performance additives. For transmissions designed for this fluid it provides improved fuel economy, excellent shifting characteristics at high and low ambient temperatures, and guards against transmission shudder. This fluid has excellent thermal and oxidation performance. It has improved shear stability, for less viscosity loss for the life of the fluid, and improved low temperature fluidity, providing proper transmission function at all temperatures. It provides wear protection and inhibits the formation of gum, sludge, lacquer and foam. It also prevents against rust and corrosion. It is dyed red for ease of leak detection
- For use in electric drive assemblies requiring Motorcraft® MERCON® ULV
- Prior to servicing Ford and Lincoln Customer vehicles the bottles should be shaken, as instructed on the front of the bottle label, to ensure that the additives are mixed well with the fluid. Failure to shake the bottle before use can result in the additives not being mixed well and cause damage to the transmission. Any fluid left in the bottle should not be saved and should be recycled
- Due to its ultra-low viscosity DO NOT USE in applications specifying MERCON® V, MERCON® SP, MERCON® LV, Premium Automatic Transmission Fluid (WSS-M2C924-A), CVT Transmission Fluid (WSS-M2C933-A), FNR5 Automatic Transmissions Fluid (Mazda M5), Dual Clutch Transmission Fluid (WSS-M2C200-D2) or Type F (ESW-M2C33-F)
